The SIA-Getz Architecture Prize for Emergent Architecture in Asia was launched by the Singapore Institute of Architects in September 2005. This year marks the 3rd time the Architecture Prize will be awarded. The SIA-Getz Architecture Prize was conceived in view of the overwhelming rate of development in Asia over the last decade. At the same time, Asian Architects has begun to leave a mark in architecture history and will continue to do so in the future. This Architecture Prize is to recognize, reward and promote Asian Architects – in a similar way that Pritzker Prize has done for the worldwide community of architects.
Award: The winner of the Architecture Prize will receive a cash prize of US$20,000, together with a specially-designed medallion at an Award Presentation Ceremony on 22 October 2010. The winner will also be required to give a lecture at the Ceremony.
The nomination calls for support by 3 licensed architects, who must each provide a citation on the rationale by which the candidate is nominated. In addition, the Nominee must also provide a brief write up on his personal philosophy. The final selection of the candidate rests with the Jury Panel.
