Focus on the life of Murlidhar Devidas Amte.
Go through his biography thoroughly. It will give you some clue about his life path, goal and philosophies.
The basic 'intention' of this museum is to keep alive his enthusiasm and spirit for the next generation.
Baba Amte worked on the fight against leprosy, Narmada Bachao Andalan and had a strong belief on Mahatma Gandhi's philosophies.

Try to take out some core essences of his ideologies. That may lead you to an architecture which reflects the notion of recharging the spirit of Baba Amte.

A typical memorial museum contains certain usual things and there are some basic functional requirements. I'm not going to talk about all those. Open a book (even the Time Saver Standards!) you'll get a lot of 'necessary' issues about a memorial museum.

However, I was talking about upholding the spirit of Baba Amte. How can you do that...!
Baba Amte dedicated his life for the betterment of mass people. So your museum may contain special public arrangements targeting to the root level mass people accessibility. Those public places may be designed to hold certain events which highlights the awareness about leprosy. The museum may also highlight on the environmental issues of Narmada Bachao Andalan. It may open an environmental awareness gallery or something like that.
The architecture may to be monumental yet generous and welcoming in nature.
Now fix out the basic functional requirements, then add some 'extra' which will lead it to be specifically a museum for Baba Amte.
Umm I can't recall any good related case study. Yet the Gandhi Ashram By Charles Correa may give some light into your ideas.
Best of luck.

It would be great to see your progress... you may consider uploading some drawings...
