right at present there is one idicator, shows your perticipation level- that is Yellow Stars. just bellow your avatar, or if there is no avatar selected than bellow your user name there are yellow stars, which indiacate the perticipation level. the more you make post or reply the stars are more in number.

The rank is fixed according to the number of your log-in to this website.
It doesn't depend on 'how old member you are' and 'how's your contribution to the site' it just depends on how many times you loged in to the site and how long you stayed online.
And Nirghum explained where to see the ranking. In users' profile there you also can see the ranking of user.
