Please give few more information about your project. I mean, every studio project has some intention, studio teachers expect the students to achieve certain goals from by a project.
Suppose, if you are a student of 2nd year, then the ergonomics and circulation of your project will be emphasized in studio, if you are in first year then the form and aesthetics will be noticed first. So, what it seems to you, after listening from your studio teachers?
Cafeteria is a kind of function which is highly based on the theme of the surroundings. And the theme of environment which the designer wants to provide the users.
Keep a look towards some points:
1. The cafeteria should look like a ‘cafeteria’ from the outside. And it should look attractive in formal expression.
2. What the visitors are seeing from the inside to outside (the outside views) and what they are seeing inside of the café (the interior of café).
3. The theme of the café (whether it is targeted for the students… who’ll have their fun and shouts all day log, or it may be an elite formal café where uniformed formal waiters may come and salute with a long menu…. or it may be targeted to couples who’ll enjoy their dating there, or it may be a mixture, designer has to be conscious about what’s going to happen.)
4. The functionalities and comfortable ergonomics of circulation and furniture. (How will be the kitchen? What will be cooked, if it is just fast food and coffee then the kitchen may be a part of the sitting area, if there’s to cook something heavy and smoky then the kitchen should be separated form the main part. How and where will be the counter desk? Is it a ‘pay first’ café… or ‘order first pay later café’? If it is ‘pay first’ then the counter and the entry may be anywhere, but if it is order first, pay later café then you have to design carefully whether the visitor can’t leave without paying the bill. Then it comes the comfort of seating and eating.. and proper design of furniture and kitchen area.)

I think anyone who wants to design a "cafeteria" should know what are the functions/activities are in it or required. After that the examples should be reviewed/analized. then if there is any personal thoughts ,then it should be implimented.
