The name of Kimbell Art Museum by Luis I Kahn comes up first in mind whenever we listen Gallery & Natural Light these two words. Kimbell is no doubt the best example of its kind. Google it for information. There's a thread in the forum which has almost all the drawings of Kahn's Capital Complex at Dhaka. You can also see this project to understand the technique of playing with spiritual natural light in the interior. Start designing in sections. Which will lead you to an innovative design for natural lighting and the visual or spatial connection of the building to the river. Start with drawing the spaces in sections and think about the roofs apertures to invite defused and controlled natural light. Wish you best of luck. Edited Sun Dec 30 2007, 11:07am |
